First, it was NHTSA head David Strickland.  (Read about that here and here.) Now. former DOT Secretary Ray LaHood has cashed in his “public servant” chips to make a bundle representing the folks he used to regulate.  It wasn’t supposed to be this way:

The revolving door strikes again.  Rather than make Chrysler go through the same testing Ford had to when the Pinto had gas tank problems, the NHTSA head makes a phone call to the CEO of Chrysler and makes the problem go away.  Not coincidentally, the NHTSA head is going to work for a lobbying firm that Chrysler uses.

God forbid that a bit of larger type crowd out the lovely photos that pharma puts in their ads, right?
