That’ll teach Forest Labs to improperly market drugs!
And we wonder why drug companies behave so badly – look at the “punishment” they received.
Forest Laboratories Inc. said Friday the Food and Drug Administration approved its depression and anxiety drug Lexapro for use in children between the ages of 12 and 17 years old.
The drug is currently approved as a treatment for depression in adults.
Forest has come under scrutiny by the U.S. government for its marketing practices, with the Justice Department in February filing a complaint alleging Lexapro and Celexa was promoted for use by children, even though it is not approved for their age group.
